I Am Expecting A Miracle.

I Am Expecting A Miracle.

LET THE RIVER FLOWFolks, I would like to share something a bit personal with you. For the past five years, I have been battling diabetes. My doctor had me on two meds. He took me off one of them because it was harming my liver. Despite losing weight, moderate exercise and dietary changes, my blood sugar numbers did not improve.

For the past year, I eliminated all starches (bread, potatoes, rice and etc) and sugar from my diet. Frustratingly, after my latest blood test, my doctor says it is time for me to go on insulin asap. The nurse said over the phone, “What time would you like to come in on Monday for insulin training?”

Heartbroken, I told her 3pm (after Rush Limbaugh’s radio show). Then, I asked her to please ask my doctor to give me three more weeks to make a change before I surrender to insulin. Insulin only masks the problem rather than fixing it. I want to stay on offense rather than defense.

So that is where I am today. As Emeril would say, I have kicked my attack up a notch. I go to the gym daily. I have eliminated carbonated drinks and sugar substitutes. I only drink water, coffee and tea. I love munching on peanuts, but learned that too many raises blood sugar. Thus, I have eliminated all nuts. Quoting our president, but telling the truth, “Period”.

I take diabetes health supplements and cinnamon tablets. I have also begun taking a “super food” supplement advertised nationally.

I have prayed to be healed. However, the Bible says faith without works is dead. Sometime God heals instantaneously, other times He requires the person to do something. The Bible tells of God requiring a very important man to dip three times in a filthy river for his healing. Reluctantly, the man complied and was healed.

My dad noticed that I kept referring to “my diabetes”. Dad said, “Stop claiming it. Stop calling it your diabetes”. Dad’s advise was awesome because what we say out of our mouths has tremendous power. The Bible says our words have power to curse and power to bless.

Any solutions or old wives tales you can offer to defeat this disease would be greatly appreciated. I am open. My blood test is in two weeks.

“By His stripes, we are healed!”

God bless, Lloyd
