I have quite a few friends in Alaska and every one of them strongly support Palin.
I think:
==There are a lot of jealous women of questionable capability around and they can’t handle truly capable women.
== Todd is an extremely capable and confident example of an American male. Most men couldn’t handle a connection with such a strong, competent woman.
== Sarah has a tough road ahead because she is more of an “outsider” than the entrenched body politic can deal with. She did not advance in the traditional way and is therefore short on the political mortgages typically necessary to prevent a “rogue” from upsetting embedded processes.
She is a genuine threat to “more of the same politics.”

I was taken to task a few years ago for saying I didn’t believe Condi Rice had it in her to be president. I really believed she did not – not because she was a woman – but because she herself had said she was not interested in that role. But Sarah Palin will make an admirable president – and I do believe it may happen.
