I’m trying to figure out why anyone would expect President Obama to be perfect, when none of the other presidents were. Of course he has faults, of course he may have belonged to some “radical” groups who supported him during his early years, just as some of our other presidents belong to radical white organizations, even suspected relations with KKK. We even had presidents who owned slaves, and yet we honor them. If we go back in history and investigate each and every president, we’d be sure to find many negative things about many of our greatest presidents. President Bush’s past certainly had weaknesses, and yet again, we expect President Obama to be perfect.
If, indeed, the Black Conservatives had rallied behind President Obama, they’d have more opportunity to put pressure on him to tow the line in a better direction. They’d have opportunities to get to know him, and perhaps get into his inner circle. If Black Conservatives truly believe that what they stand for is right for this country, they shouldn’t have been against this president. They should have stood for him, and put political pressure on him to use better judgment when making decisions that impact the American people.
White people supported Former President Bush even when they realized he’d gotten us into an unjust war, “turned the largest surplus in history into the largest deficit in history, lost thousands of jobs, and more than doubled our foreign-owned government debt” (U.S. House of Representatives Committee on the Budget July 31, 2008). That’s how White people stand together, but not us.
So, while I may agree the content of some of your beliefs, I don’t agree your lack of support for President Obama, who is risking his life every day that he’s in office, a fact that many of you seem to disregard. We made history in this country by finally electing a minority president, but he took over an administration that was doomed for failure. The fact that some things are better than they were before is amazing. We’re still not satisfied, nor should we be, but we cannot afford to be divided. Actually, with the state of affairs throughout the world, we should all be working towards making our world a better place to live. We should be finding ways to make peace profitable, instead of war. Obviously, this topic can’t be completed in one reply, but this is some of what I feel.
]]>He doesn’t belong to anyone. Yet why would you support a person who is against everything Dr. King stood for.
Dr King stood for Social justice. Glenn Beck Social justice is like Nazism and Communism.

If Dr. king was alive to day he would be on Glenn Beck’s chalkboard.
If that’s the white boy you feel as though should be honoring Dr. King when he hates everything he stands for then.
Have a nice life Clayton Bigsby.
