Paul Ryan’s VP nomination acceptance speech was the voice of We The People. While on vacation at a Gulf Coast condo, the owner of the building looked me in the eye and said, “Lloyd, as a nation, we need to BELIEVE again. We need to believe that the people we put in office are good honorable people committed to doing what is best for our country.” Paul Ryan is the answer to the elderly condo owner’s dream.

What struck me most watching Ryan brilliantly deliver his speech was an unmistakable sense of wholesomeness which emanated from the man. It is the same quality possessed by Sarah Palin which is as repulsive to the modern Democratic Party and mainstream media as showing Dracula the cross.

Remarkably, the Democratic Party has become so infected with an anti-American, socialistic and anti-God agenda, that traditional American wholesome principles and values are vehemently attacked and labeled “extreme”.

According to the Democratic Party and mainstream media, rejecting Obama’s mandate to force Christians to fund abortions is branded a “war on women”. Americans who do not object to homosexual civil unions, but believe “Marriage” should remain defined as between a man and a woman are punished and branded bigots and haters by the Democrats and their sycophant media.

Unbelievably, Obama is historic in two categories. He is America’s first mixed-race president and the first president that the mainstream media declares it racist to criticize or disagree with in any way. The passionate mantra of the mainstream media has always been, “We must speak truth to power!” Well, apparently, it does not apply when there is a black man occupying the Oval Office.

And speaking of “occupying”, Ryan pointed out in his speech how the Obama administration (and the mainstream media, I might add) rallied around the OWS thugs while demonizing small business owners; the people that make our country work and employs most Americans.

Ryan called Mitt Romney a man of high morals. Mentioning the “M” word was like throwing Holy Water on the Democrats and mainstream media. I heard them screaming through my TV, Stop! Stop! It burns! It BURNS!

As excepted, the Democrats and the media have launched their, Paul Ryan-is-an-extremist-racist-nut campaign. Think of their campaign to destroy Paul Ryan as “Sarah Palin Two: The Sequel”; only this time it is a wholesome articulate bright white male they hope to brand as the dumbest most extreme VP nominee ever.

Still, Americans that watched his speech on TV with open minds and hearts “felt” Paul Ryan. They sensed that we are in a battle of good versus evil; wholesomeness versus a diminished America and Godless society.

To the elderly small businessman condo owner, longing for politicians we can believe in again, Paul Ryan represents a major step in the right direction. Go Romney/Ryan, America needs you!

Incredibly, some blacks have completely forsaken their Christianity for Obama. A fellow PK (preacher’s kid) said her parents recently changed their stance on same-sex marriage in support of their black president. I find this remarkable.

Though I disagree, I have been sympathetic and understanding with black seniors who have suffered dearly, with hearts still bearing scars of racial injustice.

A year or so ago, I hosted the first Black Conservative Press Conference at the National Press Club in DC. Several prominent black conservatives from numerous black conservative groups/organizations spoke. My brother brought my 84-year-old black dad from Baltimore. While you may have a valid point, it is in my DNA to respect my parents. How do you respectfully tell your usually character-driven parent that his decision to support Obama, no-matter-what, is rooted in racism and a refusal to forgive?

Incredibly, the roots of racial hatred run so insidiously deep into the hearts of some blacks who profess Christianity that Obama has their vote – period. These blacks will claim that my facts are lies, that videos have been doctored, and that I am a paid Uncle Tom sell-out to the Republicans. The Bible speaks of those who would rather believe a lie than the truth. Such are in my prayers.

In the biblical account of Christ’s Passion, the law gave the mob an opportunity to free one condemned prisoner, thus, saving their choice from crucifixion. Pilate asked the crowd, do I free Jesus or Barabbas? The crowd yelled, “Give us Barabbas!” Jesus was crucified.

Two thousand years later, biblical principles are scheduled for crucifixion in America. Black Christians are faced with a crucial choice; Jesus or Obama. I pray that come November, a majority of black Christians will not yell, “Give us Obama!”

Mary and I accepted Becky’s gracious offer to use her condo for a week of relaxation. The panoramic view of the Gulf of Mexico from the balcony is breathtakingly beautiful. The spectacular scene of varying shades of blue sky and alive water is always in a continuous state of change. From our high vantage point, we realized that the gulf is a mirror reflecting the heavens, gifting the sky an opportunity to behold it’s own glory.

We were thrilled to witness a pod of dolphins swimming in one direction across our view in the mornings and swimming in the opposite direction in the evenings. Their amazing water ballet featured dolphins two by two, in unison, gracefully leaping into the air and reentering the water in one silky smooth movement.

Surfing the TV channels, I caught the media frenzy over stupid statements made by Republican Todd Akin. One could only conclude that Akin was the most important news story on the planet. This is yet another example of irresponsible, reprehensible and sold-their-souls-to-the-devil behavior by the mainstream media. Their motto is anything that helps Obama or makes Republicans look bad must be exploited to the max. So Akin will receive 24/7 coverage until they have milked every ounce of negative PR for Republicans out of the story.

Remarkably, the mainstream media functions as if getting Obama reelected trumps everything including world affairs, national security, the U.S. economy and nation race relations.

While our media imitates sharks responding to blood in the water ripping apart Akin, Iran unveiled a new upgraded missile. The New Black Panthers’ rant on a radio program against Republicans was vile, profane, racist and hate-filled. And yet, we have not heard one peep of rebuke or denouncement from Obama, the Democrats or the mainstream media. The Panthers outrageously and absurdly claim that Republicans hate black people. Therefore, the Panthers claim moral authority to say to the RNC: our “Feet will be on your motherf***king necks”

Judging by their silence regarding the Panthers’ hate-filled threat of violence on whites, one can only conclude that the Obama camp believes that the New Black Panthers ginning up hatred in blacks, against white Republicans is good for Obama’s reelection. So what if their evil lie rhetoric sets back national race relations, inspires violence and furthers racial division. The Obama camp is not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.

The Obama justice department and mainstream media simply yawned when the New Black Panthers broke the law by putting a bounty on the head of George Zimmerman. Given their obvious agenda to reelect Obama, lack of fair and balanced analysis and refusal to report news which really affects our lives, I have no, I repeat, no respect for the mainstream media. My gag reflex is growing increasingly weak watching small minded arrogant people on TV pontificating about premises which are flawed at their root; such as, all opposition to Obama is racist.

This week, it was 24/7 coverage of Akin. In these days leading up to the November presidential election, expect the mainstream media to triple down on their coverage of minor stories that they believe will help Obama while ignoring major news that impacts our lives.

The New Black Panthers are pushing for a race war. And yet, the president, his justice department, the Democratic Party and the mainstream media say nothing. Absolutely contemptible.

These three kids wanted to run for the tall grass. It was early 90′s at the U.S. Citizenship Ceremony in Maryland. Around 1500 people filled the hall comprising of citizenship applicants, supportive family and friends.

I was backstage with a trio of extremely nervous and intimidated teenagers who were scheduled to sing our National Anthem. These kids had never performed for such a large audience.

I had been the grand finale of the ceremony for years, performing my original song, “Celebrate America” after applicants took their oath of allegiance. I took great pride that my song was the first song thousands heard as official Americans.

When the MC introduced the trio from so-and-so junior high school, the kids were visibly shaking. They began the anthem fine, but one got nervous and stopped singing which threw off the other two and they stopped singing as well. The trio stood in silence.

I walked from backstage and joined the kids center stage. I told the audience that these kids were symbolic of what it really means to be an American and the great family they would soon become a part of. I shared that the kids were very frightened because the event was much larger than they expected. They could have backed down and refused to perform. But despite their fear, these kids found the courage to face the difficult challenge, keep their word and give it a try. This is the American Way.

Together, the trio and I sang the National Anthem. The audience gave us a standing ovation.

Performing my song at U.S. Citizenship Ceremonies rewarded me an opportunity to chat with brand new “proud” Americans. They understood the sacrifice and divine blessing required to make this extraordinarily unique experiment called “America” a thriving reality. They gleefully desired to assimilate into our culture.

Some applicants were extremely old in wheelchairs; their raised right hand assisted by a family member as they tearfully recited their oath of allegiance.

As the sacred sound of the applicants reciting their oath of allegiance, in unison, came to an end, the hall always erupted in cheers and applause. These jubilant people of various races from numerous countries were officially Americans! They respected our laws, followed the rules and were awarded the precious gift of U.S. Citizenship.

With a stroke of his executive pen, Obama awarded amnesty to illegals, pushing them to the head of the line, in front of applicants who are following the legal process to become U.S. citizens. And yes, there is a dramatically different mindset between those I witnessed at the ceremonies who earned their precious U.S. Citizenship verses those who got it for free because Obama seeks to purchase Hispanic votes.

Many illegals given instant free citizenship by Obama could not care less about assimilating into our society. They refuse to learn English and have little or no respect for our flag. America is simply the place the go for freebies while still proudly waving their Mexican flag.

Illegals given free citizenship from Obama join the socialists/progressives in their “what’s-the-big-deal-about-being-an-American” attitude.

So illegals who are clueless as to what it truly means to be an American and have no emotional connection to our amazing country enjoy benefits not even available to legal U.S. Citizens. For example: Thanks to Obama, illegals from outside any given state can get in-state tuition while U.S. Citizens can not.

Even more painful, Obama continues to lower the bar of what it means to be an American.

Obama’s speeches and actions imply that he would like to rewrite the words at the base of our Statue of Liberty to read: Bring me your lazy, entitlement-minded, class envious, haters of achievement, those who pervert God’s original intent, baby killers and deadbeats. I offer America to you with open arms.

The value and worth of U.S. Citizenship is yet another item on a growing list of sacred laws (The Constitution), freedoms and principles Obama has sacrificed on the socialist/progressive alter of evil to purchase four more years; needed to complete his vowed fundamental transformation of America. God help us.

I am extremely excited that Romney chose Paul Ryan as VP.

However, I must confess the first thought that popped in my brain is what horrific/evil campaign ad will the deviant minds at team Obama release to smear/lie about this decent, honest, highly intelligent, and honorable conservative fine young man?

Last week, Obama’s camp said Romney murdered a guy’s wife. Back when Ryan presented his budget proposal, Democrats produced an outrageous ad portraying Ryan physically pushing an elderly woman, IN A WHEELCHAIR, over a cliff.

The truth of the matter is Ryan’s proposal would not impact seniors in any way. His plan involved responsible changes which would impact future generations. But when it comes to smearing/lying about Republicans, Democrats consider “truth” inconvenient.

So, how will the Obama camp scrape the bottom of the indecency barrel to smear/lie about the Romney/Ryan ticket. I am sure it will be absurd and despicable.

The mainstream media which is a wing of the Obama reelection team will act as if the Democrats’ outrageous accusation is gospel. They will demand that Romney disavow his horrible choice for VP.

The character of these people, (Democratic Party leadership, mainstream media and Obama) is a disgrace. Lord help us.

Some pundits say Obama has so successfully transformed America into a “gimme society” that the food stamp president will win re-election in a landslide. Other political wizards say the bloom is off the rose. A majority of Americans realize that Obama is a far-left, radical, socialist/progressive, anti-American, lawless dictator. His reign of terror will end come November. Arguments are strong supporting both scenarios.

Folks, candidly, I do not know which political egghead’s election predictions are correct. Life has taught me never to invest total trust in my knowledge or in that of any man.

So yes, Obama appears to be doing a great job rallying his base: the lazy racists, the entitlement-minded socialists, the progressives and plain old haters of America. And yes, Obama does own the mainstream media.

Nevertheless, I am confident and strong. What is my response to all the odds appearing overwhelmingly in Obama’s favor? Two words: “But God…”

I realize that some on our side get the heebie-jeebies whenever the “G” word is brought into the mix. This is a sad commentary to the effectiveness of the left’s relentless campaign to ban God from the public square. America was founded on God and godly principles.

Without going into a lengthy personal testimony, I will say that countless times, when it appeared that all hope was lost, God intervened and turned things around in my favor. My future looked dark. “But God…”

Benjamin Franklin said, “God governs in the affairs of man.” History documents many incidences when America was on the verge of receiving a death-blow, foiled by divine intervention.

The Battle of Long Island was decided by sudden mysterious fog.

In August 1776, with the water full of British warships, George Washington and his Continental Army faced certain defeat in New York City. Besides being extremely outnumbered, Washington’s troops were freezing and starving. Adding insult to injury, unseasonable bad weather had moved in, and it was raining.

The rain turned out to be an extraordinary blessing in disguise. The next morning, it was so blindingly foggy that the Brits could not attack. They were forced to wait until the fog passed.

Even more freaky is that the fog appeared only in areas in which it was needed to conceal Washington’s operations from the British. Remarkably, other areas of New York City were perfectly clear.

The fog provided Washington enough cover and time to slip his army to Manhattan without losing a single troop. Washington did not have to fight the British that day. He eventually won the war.

The Brits appeared to have the battle against America all sewn up. “But God…”

Patriots, like you, my heart aches for America. Unbelievably, the mayors of two major cities threatened to punish a restaurant chain if it attempted to do business in their towns because the CEO is a Christian who does not embrace same-sex marriage.

A Supreme Court justice bent the Constitution to uphold the greatest attack on freedom in American history, essentially sealing the death of America as intended by God and our Founding Fathers.

Religious institutions are decreed to fund contraceptive services against their faith or suffer the wrath and iron fist of Obama.

Public schools are indoctrinating our children, beginning in elementary school, to believe that homosexuality is normal — no different from being born left-handed. Outrageously, our kids are even encouraged to give homosexuality a try before deciding their sexuality.

I find it particularly disturbing that what it means to be an American continues to be diminished. Our parents’ legacy of hard work, individuality, and independence is being suppressed. Americanism under Obama means as many people as possible dependent on government. Forget striving to be all you can be; forget pursuing the American dream for you and your family. The message of our socialist dictator is work to share everything equally.

Meanwhile, many Christians either are not interested in voting or refuse to vote for a candidate less perfect than Jesus Christ. To win approval from the left, some Christians caution their brethren not to be too outspoken regarding their faith like that embarrassing Tim Tebow.

Still, I remain vigilant in my quest to defeat Obama. “All that’s necessary for the forces of evil to win in the world is for enough good men to do nothing.”

At dinner, a patriot asked, “Mr. Marcus, do you ever get depressed about our country.” I could, very easily. “But God…”

I jump on every opportunity to respectfully challenge my 84 year old black dad’s loyalty to Obama. Dad has been a Christian pastor over 50 years. He lives in Maryland and I live in Florida. I called Dad to ask if he participated in Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day. He said, no he had not heard about it. Then, he added, “All I know is Chick-fil-A discriminates against gays.”

Folks, I was outraged. Struggling to keep my composure, I passionately said, “Dad, that is a lie! You have got to stop getting your news from the mainstream media!”

I went on to explain to my dad what the protest and appreciation day were really about. Dad was shocked. He does not support same-sex marriage. At my local Chick-fil-A restaurant, Mavis and I were the only blacks there in support of the protest, amongst hundreds of white Christians and Tea Party patriots.

So what is going on? Why is the truth not getting to a majority of black Americans? I fault a majority of black media outlets and the mainstream media.

For the most part, conservative talk radio is a white thing. Even black conservative radio talk show hosts have a mostly white following.

How do we get the truth to black America? Since I am writing about this problem, one might assume I have a solution. Well, I do not, and it frustrates me.

My conversation with Dad was yesterday. He called me at 9AM this morning. “Why haven’t I heard about what Christians were doing in support of Chick-fil-A?” I told Dad the reason is because the mainstream media, where he gets his news, is in the pocket of the socialists/progressives who embrace same-sex marriage. The mainstream media (CNN, ABC, CBS, and NBC) gave the phenomenon minimal coverage.

Dad was surprised to learn that all who oppose same-sex marriage are branded bigots and haters by his beloved Democratic Party and the mainstream media. Dad said he does not hate or judge anyone. However, the Bible says homosexuality is wrong. He must stand on the Word of God.

Patriots, my excitement was overwhelming. For years I have been waiting for the correct moment and approach to “respectfully” tell Dad that his blind loyalty to Obama and the Democrats contradicts everything he has stood for and taught me. The moment was miraculously here. Dad was on the phone, asking questions and listening.

My mind was racing, “OK! OK! How can I give him a history lesson and Conservatism vs Liberalism 101 in as few words as possible?” I thought, “Calm down and take it slow.” We talked for an hour.

I explained to Dad that the mainstream media spins the truth and, in many cases, lies to support its socialist/progressive anti-Christian anti-God agenda.

For example: Dad heard from his media sources that Republicans, Christians, and Conservatives are trying to ban contraception for women. Yes, Dad was familiar with the reported “War on Women”.

I told Dad no one is trying to stop women from obtaining birth control. Contraception is cheap – available at Walmart for five bucks. I explained that under Obama Care, Christian institutions and Christians will be forced to fund contraception and abortion services against their will and their faith. Again, Dad was shocked. Dad said he does not want to fund such services.

My 84 year old dad joined the Democratic Party in his youth, believing it to be for the hard working little guy. I informed Dad that that Democratic Party no longer exists. In short, spoiled-brat old hippies run the Democratic Party today.

A majority of the Democratic Party leadership are far-left liberals who hate America and believe that man can fix every problem. God is an imaginary being clung to by ignorant, bitter, and racist middle Americans. These Democrats believe they are intellectually superior – and thus far better-qualified to manage our lives. This is why the Democratic Party seeks ever-expanding governmental controls over our behavior. Outrageously, death panels in Obama Care even give government power to decide who lives and who dies.

In response to the socialists/progressives’ disbelief in God, Dad, a preacher over 50 years, said, “Your house had a builder. I did not see him. Nor do I know him. But I know he exists. Man also had a builder.”

Dad ended our conservation with “I’m going to Chick-fil-A today to spend some money.”

Mary and I had lunch at Chick-fil-A, Saxon Blvd, Orange City, Florida. Wow! The line wrapped around the building. Someone reported the line began forming at 6am.

The atmosphere was that of a family reunion; a fellowship event of various churches and Tea Party activists. Despite the traffic jams and having to wait in the Florida heat, the crowd was upbeat and courteous.

The crowd applauded and cheered when a Colonel Sanders look-a-like showed up in support of the cause.

Chatting with the crowd, I learned that numerous local churches were represented.

I hate to bring this up. But I thought, where are the black people. Ninety-nine percent of the crowd was white or Hispanic. There is a local black church with a huge congregation in my community. Where were they? Black folks do not support same sex marriage. So, why were they not standing in solidarity at Chick-fil-A.

I realize black pastors across America have joined together to protest the Obama administration’s support of same sex marriage. But in my town, only a few showed up to support Chick-fil-A. Do many blacks feel it traitorous to stand with whites against anything that reflects poorly on the Obama administration.

I am not putting these black Christians down. I simply wish to know what it will take to get them on board standing side by side with fellow Americans for Godly principles.

Some might think me to be just a naïve sentimental old fart. I still remember living in the projects of Baltimore and seeing my dad walking to work. Every eye was on the handsome young black man in his dress blue uniform with polished brass buttons, starched white shirt and spit shined black shoes. Dad was one of the first blacks to break the color barrier into the Baltimore City Fire Department. I was nine years old and so proud of my dad.

While race baiters and haters love to bash our great country saying there should have never been a “color barrier” into the Baltimore City Fire Department, the truth of the matter is black and white Americans together saw this evil and corrected it. Jesus said he who is without sin cast the first stone. It is time that we move on. For crying out loud, we now have a black president of the United States.

Dad went on to be Baltimore City Fire Department’s first black Firefighter of the Year, paramedic and Chaplin.

My wife Mary said when she first met dad at a family cookout, she was surprised. She expected a huge man. What she saw was a little pleasant man wearing a funny hat attending the grill, cooking hotdogs and burgers. Dad is around five-eleven medium built. But in my mind, he has always been a very big man.

Dad once commented to me how it saddened him to see the deterioration of standards in the fire department – firefighters being slapped on the wrist for not showing up for their shift and serious laps of character.

Dad, now 84, is very much like Ronald Reagan. Both men came up the hard way and worked for everything they got. Both epitomized the American Dream. Reagan was an eternal optimist; so is my dad. Reagan loved laughter and jokes. Dad who lives in Maryland calls me in Florida to tell me his latest joke. I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I am to still laugh at dad’s corny jokes.

Dad is a good guy. Am I naïve or old fashioned expecting the good guy to win? Has America changed so dramatically that being good – a person of character is considered naïve?

Public schools are teaching our children that patriotism is ignorant and prejudice – rude to the rest of the world. These schools force Gay Pride Day down our kids throats. But, wearing a t-shirt to school with the U.S. Flag on it is banned; considered offensive. They teach our kids songs praising Obama while banning God Bless the USA.

So, where are the prominent voices who are standing up and celebrating the goodness and greatness of America? Reagan always touted the goodness of America and how God is with us. Michael Reagan said his dad was America’s last great cheerleader. Sadly, I must agree. Although, there is one strong contender.

Sarah Palin has stood up touting the greatness of America and look what the Obama administration and the mainstream media have attempted to do to her. Disgracefully, millions of ill-informed Americans view Palin as a nut-case far-right extremist.

Think about that folks. Because Palin boldly stands up for traditional family values, God and country, the left has tried to crucify not only Palin, but her entire family. Showing more “cajones” than many Republican males, Palin continues to be a relentless cheerleader for Ronald Reagan and my dad’s America. But Sarah Palin is only one courageous woman. To conquer the shock and awe assault on our country by Obama and his media minions, we need an army of cheerleaders.

To pass patriotism on to our children and our children’s children, we need many more American cheerleaders – teaching character, hard work, education, the goodness and greatness of this extraordinary unique successful experiment called America.

A female relative of mine said, “Sarah Palin – and she wants to tell women – no, no no!” My ranting cousin never did tell me specifically what Palin said that was so offensive. All she knew was Palin was bad for women. While in reality, Sarah Palin epitomizes everything the feminist movement claims to desire for women. Palin is a successful homemaker and businesswoman. My clueless relative clearly bought into the left’s campaign to destroy Palin.

I sang God Bless America the other day and towards the end of the song my eyes welled-up. I felt a little embarrassed, silly and old-fashioned. Good things such as love, honor, character and courage stir my emotions. For a moment I thought, “Toughin’ up Lloyd, people today do not feel such passion for their country and traditional values.” I rebuked such media inspired nonsense. A majority of Americans still do believe, like my dad and Reagan did, in truth, justice and the American way.

People on both sides of the political aisle, some secretly, liked Reagan because he was a man of character.

As a young black kid clueless about politics, Reagan speeches made me feel good and believe in myself and my country. Who will help Palin fill the void – courageously pick up the baton of inspiration which has laid dormant since the passing of President Reagan.

Will you stand with Sarah Palin cheering on America – risk being demonized and persecuted for the greater good – the future of our country?
