Black Republican Rebukes Steele

Monday, April 26th, 2010

RNC Chairman Michael Steele said that the GOP has not given blacks a reason to vote Republican. As a black conservative Republican, I ask, what is the GOP suppose to do — serve soul food at Republican events?

In other words, I reject the concept of dividing Americans into victimized groups and pandering to them. Besides, the Democrats are masters of insulting the intelligence of Americans by playing the old and tattered victim, race, and class envy cards. The GOP does not need to go down the same shameful, disgusting road.

Brother Steele, how about the GOP showing a little respect for the American people by standing up for conservative values and principles? If you do this, they will come. Right-minded Americans of all stripes will join our cause.

So how do you, Chairman Steele, think the GOP should attract more blacks? Do we adopt “liberal lite” policies? Do Republicans prove that they are “down with the brothers” by embracing a lighter version of the lie promoted by the race-exploiting Democrats, by saying that racism is still somewhat of a problem for blacks in America today?

Chairman Steele, you said, “The Republican Party had a hand in forming the NAACP, and yet we have mistreated that relationship.” What the heck are you talking about? When President Obama addressed the NAACP and said that racism is still a problem for blacks in America, the audience cheered as if at a baseball game where someone on their team hit a home run. They loved the affirmation of their victim status.

The once-great NAACP has deteriorated into a negative for black America. The organization sold its soul for a seat of power at the liberal Democratic Party table, betraying blacks by keeping them thinking like victims so they will continue voting monolithically Democrat. Why on earth should the Republicans pander to this organization of disgusting race-exploiters?

I am so done with “identity politics”. We are all Americans. Why can’t politicians simply relate to us as such rather than dividing us into victimized groups which they promise special concessions?

Remember how Superman stood for truth, justice, and the American Way? Oh, for a political party with the courage and values of the man who disguised himself as mild-mannered reporter Clark Kent — no special concessions for any group, but truth, justice, and the American Way for all.

As a high-profile black member of the Tea Party Movement, I am constantly being asked by reporters, “Why isn’t the movement doing more to attract minorities?” I say that the movement is doing exactly what it should be doing: standing up for conservative principles and values. Over time, this will attract all right-thinking Americans.

Entitlement-minded losers will be repulsed by our message, but that is OK. We are seeking to attract the kind of Americans who have made America great — folks who still believe in American exceptionalism, who still see America as a shining city on a hill.

After traveling across America on three Tea Party Express tours, I am seeing more and more blacks at the rallies. I have begun interviewing them. They are mostly entrepreneurs or ex-military who have witnessed the negative consequences of socialism abroad. These blacks also display an air of pride, dignity, and self-confidence which comes from personal achievement. These blacks are cast from the same mold as former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice and U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, the kind of blacks hated by the NAACP.

Obama has appointed Al Sharpton as his “go-to guy” in getting his message to the black community. This is more “identity politics.” Does this also imply that we blacks are too stupid to understand Obama and need Sharpton to interpret?

Admittedly, there are issues which are devastating the black community: high numbers of out-of-wedlock births, epidemic school dropout rates, and 50% of black babies aborted (blackgenocide.org). But these problems should not be dealt with from the standard Democrat “white folks don’t care” or “it’s whitey’s fault” or “let’s throw more money at it” point of view. The mess in the black community is proof of the utter failure of Democrat-enforced liberalism and not holding people accountable.

Blacks must be challenged to take responsibility for their lives. For crying out loud, this is America! A high school education is free. There is no reason other than a moral and parental breakdown for blacks not to graduate high school.

Chairman Steele, my bottom line is that the GOP does not need to pander to race, sex, or any other nonsense to win votes. Just stand up for what is right for all Americans. While I am not suggesting that you adorn yourself in a leotard, red briefs, and a cape, standing up for conservatism could make you America’s Superman.

Blacks, the Media, & the Tea Parties

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

I am exhausted. I returned home after performing at tea parties in 42 cities, from Searchlight, NV to Washington, D.C., in nineteen days while on the Tea Party Express III tour. I’m black conservative singer/songwriter, entertainer, author, and spokesperson Lloyd Marcus.

I wish to share with you how the liberal mainstream media has dealt with my participation on the Tea Party Express III tour.

Liberal mainstream media all but call me an Uncle Tom. Their reports imply that I am a token black too stupid to realize that I am being used by the tea party movement. In typical liberal mainstream media arrogance, they are totally blind to the blatant racism of their reporting.

Because I do not fit the liberal mainstream media’s “all blacks must vote Democrat and believe that America is racist and unjust” template, I must be an idiot. As a matter of fact, because I am a black man who loves his country and proclaims that America is the greatest land of opportunity on the planet for all who choose to go for it, much of the liberal media consider me dangerous and even wish me harm.

The liberal mainstream media are relentless in their quest to portray the tea party patriots as racist. And yet, I have performed my song, “American Tea Party Anthem,” at over 150 tea parties, been treated like a rock star, and have even seen signs which read, “Lloyd Marcus for President!” Not one tea party attendee has ever called me the N-word.

Meanwhile, a Google search will reveal numerous liberal websites and blogs which freely and excessively call me an f-ing stupid N-word. The reason for their over-the-top anger and outrage against me: I express love for my country and refuse to be a hyphenated American.

The same liberals who accuse white conservative Republicans of being mean-spirited, racist, and intolerant are the hate-filled black and white Democrats who use the N-word every other word when writing about me and have even threatened me with physical harm.

After my performance at a tea party in Traverse City, Michigan, a white reporter approached me for an interview. The upbeat, mostly white audience loved me and my patriotic performance. Smiles were everywhere. With a stony face, the snooty female reporter asked me a series of annoying questions straight out of the liberal playbook.

But what really got my blood boiling was when she asked me the following question with the trademark liberal condescending edge: “Mr. Marcus, don’t you think by calling yourself an unhyphenated American, you are encouraging white people to feel comfortable with their racism?”

I wanted to say, “Lady, what the heck are you talking about? You are obviously one miserable, bitter, and unhappy human being. Get away from me.” Instead, I replied, “With all due respect, I strongly disagree.” I turned and walked away from her, abruptly ending the interview.

Perhaps I should have stayed and argued my point of view. But I have lost patience with arrogant liberal reporters who think that they are so much smarter than us. This negative-spirited reporter had decided the spin of her story before interviewing me. My answers to her questions would not have made a difference.

At our Tea Party Express III tour rally in Buffalo, NY, four TV channels covering the rally had cameras in front of the stage. In the finale of each rally, we sing “God Bless The USA.” Emotions were high in Buffalo as the audience waved U.S. flags, sang along, and many wept. All four camera techs had looks on their faces as if they were vampires who had just been shown a cross. They were not happy campers. What is with these folks in the media? Why such disdain for their country?

At the April 15th Tea Party in Washington, D.C., a reporter for Ebony (a prominent national black magazine) approached me for an interview after my performance. The reporter asked me the same two questions every other reporter has asked: Are the tea parties racist? Why are blacks not attending?

Without going into great detail in this article, I explained to the reporter the tea party movement is not about race, but about stopping an out-of-control administration from pushing our country towards socialism.

Frustratingly, the Ebony magazine reporter replied, “So why do you hate Barack Obama?” Then, outrageously, he asked me again, “Are these rallies racist?” It was as if he did not hear a word I said.

The liberal mainstream media obviously have an agenda and a paradigm to maintain. They say that the tea party movement is racist, and the facts will not change their reporting.

At the Traverse City, Michigan rally on the Tea Party Express III tour, a white woman approached me in a wheelchair. Extremely excited, she said, “Oh my gosh, it’s Lloyd Marcus. May I have a picture with you? Thank you so much for all you are doing for our country. I love you!”

After a picture and hugs, I chatted with other fans.

Later, with tears in his eyes, Don, a Tea Party Express staff member, told me more about the woman in the wheelchair. The woman’s daughter told Don that her mom was dying. The daughter said that her mom told her that all she wanted to do before dying was “to meet Lloyd Marcus.”

Wow! I was blown away and humbled. Then I became extremely angry at the liberal mainstream media’s and Democrats’ vicious, shameful attempts to portray the tea party patriots as racist.

Just the other day, after my performance at a tea party in St Augustine, FL, an elderly white veteran thanked me and broke down in tears for our country. We embraced for several moments.

The liberal mainstream media and Democrats are attempting to racially divide and conquer our country. They are evil. As long as God gives me strength, I will continue to defend my fellow patriots who are white and fight to take back America.

Black Dem Race Exploiters Trash Tea Party

Black Dem Race Exploiters Trash Tea Party

So, I am on the Tea Party Express bus traveling to our next rally in Omaha, NE when the faces of black democrats Maxine Waters and Charley Rangel appear on TV on the Fox News channel. Both were saying racism was at the core of the Tea Party protester’s
disagreement with Obama. Please excuse my crudeness, but I wanted to puke.

These two race exploiters are calling the Tea Party protesters racist. Meanwhile, I am a
black performer/activist traveling on my third national Tea Party Express tour. We just finished our rally in North Platte, NE. Two white families asked me to hold their new born babies and pose for pictures. Excited white grandparents who are fans of my articles and music asked me to pose for pictures with them and their grand kids. Numerous white patriots shook my hand with tears in their eyes thanked me for what I was doing for our country. A white woman who said she was 86 years old gave me a big hug in thanks for
my efforts.

Polatik, our young Hispanic conservative rapper, got his usual huge positive response
from the mostly older white crowd. These are the decent hard working great Americans,
Waters, Rangel and the left continuously attempt to portray as racist.

Waters and Rangel are disgusting people willing to shamefully play the race card
whenever it serves their purpose. And their purpose is to ram as much of Obama’s far
left radical government take over of our lives down our throats as possible without
opposition. These arrogant elitists believe they know what is best for our lives. They
believe in “social justice” which means taking from achievers and redistributing to non
achievers; totally un-American and an anathema to the nurturing of the human
spirit. Waters and Rangel are both poster kids for why we must vote out characterless
politicians who freely exploit race, class envy or whatever to divide Americans and
further their anti-America agenda.

Someone informed me the left wing Huffington Post blog trashed me for my proclaiming
at Tea Parties that I’m an American rather than a hyphenated African-American.
Perhaps, one of the left wing blogs inspired the hate emails I have received. They call
me everything from an idiot to an M F-ing stupid “N” word. Why does simply calling
myself an American inspire such anger and rage from the left?

And yet, the media lords the left for their tolerance and compassion. The left attempts to
brand us tea party patriots as haters, while in reality they are the ones spewing hate
from deep within their souls.

Since I began traveling with the Tea Party Express, (over a hundred rallies), I have been
surrounded by great Americans who love their country and simply do not want to see it
transformed into Europe. Got to run, talk to y’all later.

All the best, Lloyd
