Diversity on Tea Party Express

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Lloyd Marcus here checking in while on the Tea Party Express III tour bus with a 300 mile ride ahead of us. We had two rallies in Utah and we are headed to Grand Junction Colorado.

My fellow performers on the tour are seasoned professionals. I am extremely excited about a new refreshing addition to our Tea Party Express team of performers. He is a young 20 something year old Hispanic conservative rapper who calls himself, “Polatik”. Polatik is a youth minister, husband and father of one, another in the oven, and an entrepreneur.

Polatik is open and honest about his past which includes prison. He credits his relationship with Christ for turning his life around. He is passionate about teaching kids not to choose the wrong paths. He is a fine young man.

Our Tea Party Express team performs a variety of music. I was not sure how rap would play on the tour. I am pleased to report Polatik has been a hit at the rallies. Audiences appear to be taken aback a bit when his hip hop intro music begins. But, when Polatik begins rapping about standing up for our Constitution and family values, they enthusiastically embrace and shower him with cheers.

It was hilarious and wonderful to see seniors and people wearing western gear bopping to a Hispanic kid rapping about his beloved country. It confirms that if you love America and stand on principles, you are one of us. It’s how we Tea Party patriots roll.

At our Provo, Utah rally, I chatted with a small business owner name Larry. Larry told me how he and his wife were achieving the America dream. Then Obama signed Obamacare. Larry says this health care monster will cause him to cut payroll and probably end his business. It struck me how liberal democrat big government grandiose so called compassionate policies
always end up hurting the little guy.

I’m a black American who started off poor living in a Baltimore, Maryland government projects. I was blessed to have an intact family, mom, dad and four younger siblings. When my dad broke the color barrier into the Baltimore Fire Dept., we were able to move to a black suburban community.

Several of my cousins were not as fortunate. They grew up in fatherless homes and on government welfare most of their lives. Government provided just enough to keep them dependent. A hand up is a good thing. But, government controlling people via cradle to grave dependency is evil. My cousin’s lives sucked; drug and alcohol abuse, crime, serial out of wedlock births and etc. Many died young.

And yet, the survivors still faithfully give liberal democrats their votes. Just like Larry, the small business owner in Utah, my black cousins are hurt by big government so called compassionate interference.

Today, our first Tea Party Express rally is in Grand Junction Colorado. I will keep y’all posted.

All the best, Lloyd

Personal UPDATE: Day 3, Embedded Black Says Tea Parties Not Racist

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

I am on the Tea Party Express tour bus traveling to our next rally in Provo, Utah. We just left St George, Utah. At the rallies, I perform my original “American Tea Party Anthem” song and more. I usually walk among the crowds when I am not on stage. I have attended over 100 tea parties across America and the crowds are all the same; bright, well informed, decent and hard working Americans.

Today, at our St. George, Utah rally, I felt a new level of love and concern for our country. There were numerous veterans, some from as far back as Korea expressing their displeasure with the radical changes taking place in our country. Grandmothers, a few using walkers, have been following our tour since the kick-off rally in Searchlight, NV. Young parents with new born babies in arms, baby-boomers fearful about the future of their grand kids and teenagers all thanked our multiracial Tea Party Express team for our efforts to restore America. I posed for numerous pictures and signed autographs.

As a black patriot, I have never felt a racist atmosphere nor a hint of violence. Yes, attendees are
angry. It is the patriotic duty of all who love America to be angry. Today, several tea party attendees hugged me with tears streaming down their cheeks as they thanked me for standing up for our country. Several were also extremely moved by my signature proclamation that I am not a hyphenated American. They called me brother.

The media is littered with articles and news stories about the alleged “n” word incident in Washington DC. Black democrats claim they were called the “n” word fifteen times by a bunch of angry white tea party activists. I believe the accusation is a lie.

First of all, in our high tech everyone has a cellphone video camera age, video of the incident would be posted everywhere if the incident really happened. Also, as I said, I have attended over 100 tea parties. I know my fellow patriots. If a knucklehead yelled the “n” word, the crowd would have immediately verbally attacked the idiot. This accusation is another sleazy divisive attempt by an arrogant bunch of characterless democrat race exploiters and their homeys in the liberal mainstream media to dis millions of patriots who refused to sheepishly surrender our freedom, liberty and culture to their beloved messiah, Obama.

And another thing, after passing Obamacare against our will via corrupt backdoor deals, why on earth should we believe anything the democrats say regarding racist comments and threats made against them? They lie! They are characterless. They are undeserving of our respect and any benefit of the doubt.

All of the news stories which accuse the tea party patriots of racism are written based on hear say by agenda driven reporters who have never attended a tea party. I am a black man who has been firmly embedded in the tea party movement since it’s beginning.

I am so sick of writing about this tired, silly and baseless accusation (racism in the tea party movement). However, the liberal mainstream media is relentless in their refusal to let it go. They have sold their souls in support of Obama’s transformation of America.

As I told the crowd today in St. George, Utah, “Folks, this is serious business. Our country is in serious trouble”.

I can not and will not allow the liberal mainstream media and democrat’s evil accusations and lies against my fine white brothers and sisters in the tea party movement to go unchallenged. God bless my fellow patriots and may God bless America.

Lloyd Marcus Update from the road of Tea Party Express III

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Hi Folks, Lloyd here.

Day two of Tea Party Express tour III. Yesterday, we launched in Searchlight NV, Harry Reid’s town. Sarah Palin was awesome as usual. Even though I had just performed and was still standing at the foot of the stage, I only got to chat a bit with Todd, Sarah’s husband. Great guy! The Secret Service and the crowds, made it almost impossible for me to get to Sarah. Still, I was able to make eye contact and a brief handshake with Sarah. The people absolutely LOVE HER.

Our Searchlight kick off rally was a wonderful madhouse of activity. The location was a dust bowl: not the best venue for such an event. And yet, spirits were high and the atmosphere was electric.

I chatted with Joe the Plumber. Joe complimented me for calling myself an unhyphenated American. Joe said, “I love it every time I hear you say that”. Joe and I have done several rallies together. Joe also pushes for us all to simply be Americans.

Actress/comedian Victoria Jackson of Saturday Night Live fame is also on the tour. What a great sincere and honest conservative woman. Victoria spoke and sang her hilarious songs while playing the ukulele. The audience loved her. She wrote a new funny song while we were on the bus. She and I rehearsed it a bit and performed it on stage in front of thousands. It was a hit.

We did two rallies yesterday. We arrived at our hotel around 11am dead tired. Early call this morning to get on the three buses. We are headed to Phoenix. Talk to you later.

A Black Man, The Progressive’s Perfect Trojan Horse

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

As millions of my fellow Americans, I am outraged, devastated and extremely angry by the democrat’s unbelievable arrogance and disdain for We The People. Despite our screaming “no” from the rooftops, they forced Obamacare down our throats. Please forgive me for using the following crude saying, but it is very appropriate to describe what has happened. “Don’t urinate on me and tell me it’s raining.” Democrats say their mission is to give all Americans health care. The democrats are lying. Signing Obamacare into law against our will and the Constitution is tyranny and step one of their hideous goal of having as many Americans as possible dependent on government, thus controlling our lives and fulfilling Obama’s promise to fundamentally transform America.

I keep asking myself. How did our government move so far from the normal procedures of getting things done? Could a white president have so successfully pulled off shredding the Constitution to further his agenda? I think not.

Ironically, proving America is completely the opposite of the evil racist country they relentlessly accuse her of being, progressives used America’s goodness, guilt and sense of fair play against her. In their quest to destroy America as we know it, progressives borrowed a brilliant scheme from Greek mythology. They offered America a modern day Trojan Horse, a beautifully crafted golden shiny new black man as a presidential candidate. Democrat Joe Biden lorded Obama as the first clean and articulate African American candidate. Democrat Harry Reid said Obama only uses a black dialect when he wants.

White America relished the opportunity to vote for a black man naively believing they would never suffer the pain of being called racist again. Black Americans viewed casting their vote for Obama as the ultimate Affirmative Action for America’s sins of the past.

Then there were the entitlement loser voters who said, “I’m votin’ for the black dude who promises to take from those rich SOBs and give to me”.

Just as the deceived Trojans dragged the beautifully crafted Trojan Horse into Troy as a symbol of their victory, deceived Americans embraced the progressive’s young, handsome, articulate and so called moderate black presidential candidate as a symbol of their liberation from accusation of being a racist nation. Also like the Trojan Horse, Obama was filled with the enemy hiding inside.

Sunday, March 21, 2010, a secret door opened in Obama, the shiny golden black man. A raging army of democrats charged out. Without mercy, they began their vicious bloody slaughter of every value, freedom and institution we Americans hold dear; launching the end of America as we know it.

Wielding swords of votes reeking with the putrid odor of back door deals, the democrats
landed a severe death blow to America and individual rights by passing Obamacare.

The mainstream liberal media has been relentlessly badgering the Tea Party movement with accusations of racism. Because I am a black tea party patriot, I am bombarded with interviewers asking me the same veiled question.“Why are you siding with these white racists against America’s first African American president?” I defend my fellow patriots who are white stating, “These patriots do not give a hoot about Obama’s skin color. They simply love their country and oppose his radical agenda. Obama’s race is not an issue”.

Recently, I have come to believe that perhaps I am wrong about Obama’s race not being an issue. In reality, Obama’s presidency has everything to do with racism, but not from the Tea Party movement. Progressives and Obama have exploited his race from the rookie senator’s virtually unchallenged presidential campaign to his unprecedented bullying of America into Obamacare. Obama’s race trumped all normal media scrutiny of him as a presidential candidate and most recently even the Constitution of the United States. Obamacare forces all Americans to purchase health care which is clearly unconstitutional.

No white president could get away with boldly and arrogantly thwarting the will of the American people and ignoring laws. President Clinton tried universal health care. Bush tried social security reform. The American people said “no” to both president’s proposals and it was the end of it. So how can Obama get away with giving the American people the finger? The answer. He is black.

The mainstream liberal media ontinues to portray all who oppose Obama in any way as racist. Despite a list of failed policies, overreaches into the private sector, violations of the Constitution and planned destructive legislation too numerous to mention in this article, many Americans are still fearful of criticizing our first black president. Incredible.

My fellow Americans, you must not continue to allow yourselves to be “played” and intimidated by Obama’s race or the historical context of his presidency. If we are to save America, the greatest nation on the planet, Obama’s progressive agenda must be stopped.

Ratigan & Media Attempt to Brand Tea Parties Racist

Thursday, March 4th, 2010
As a black proud Tea Party patriot, I am extremely offended by MSNBC TV show host Dylan Ratigan’s baseless accusation that the Tea Party Movement (my white brother and sister fellow patriots) embraces Nazis and racists. Ratigan’s attack epitomizes the liberal media’s commitment to protect Obama and his radical agenda at all costs. They have a genuine disdain for freedom, capitalism and We The People. No tactic is too low. Ratigan’s rant:

While interviewing (really badgering) Mark Williams of the Tea Party Express, outrageously Ratigan attempted to portray the bus tour as a far right hate group supportive of the killing of blacks and Jews. Well then, what the heck am I doing on the Tea Party Express tour bus? Did I miss the “People We Hate” memo? Or perhaps, the organizers hid that memo from me and other blacks on the tour.

Left wing fanatics such as Ratigan have no shame. Incredibly they will throw the innocent Tea Party patriots under the bus in defense of Obama and his far left radical agenda.

I have traveled across America two times on Tea Party Express tours one and two. It truly angers me to see the wonderful, hard working, decent and color blind white patriots whom I have met at the tea parties trashed, called Nazis and racists simply because they oppose the out of control Obama administration.

Ironically, the true character of the tea parties is the opposite of the media’s portrayal of them. In Texas, a white cowboy at a tea party approached me pushing a stroller with two black babies he and his wife who is also white recently adopted from Africa. The cowboy said they asked God to give them babies who needed their love the most. The excited dad proudly proclaimed, “Next week they will become U.S. citizens”.

I can’t remember the state where the tea party was held, but I was surrounded by an extremely excited white family of two parents and 15 kids (all home schooled). They were fans of my articles and music. We took several pictures and chatted about values. It was a wonderful exchange.

At another tea party at a rodeo arena, again I can not recall the state, a big man well over six feet wearing a big straw hat and a ZZ Top style beard gave me a bear hug with his vice grip huge arms. Relieved that he liked me, the gentle giant conveyed his gratitude for all I was doing for our country. He pulled up one leg of his bib jeans to reveal his wooden leg. He said, “If Obama care passes, I may have to carve my next new leg”. I really appreciate what you are doing brother”.

During my travels on the Tea Party Express tours, I was showered with affection, given sentimental gifts and homemade brownies from the folks reported as racist by the liberal media. In Nevada, a small business owner offered me free dry cleaning for life. While I appreciated her extremely generous and sincere offer, shipping my laundry from my home in Florida could be a bit expensive.

At a number of tea parties across America, I saw signs which read, “Lloyd Marcus for President!” But how could this be? Jeannine Garafolo said the tea party movement is really about white racists not wanting a black president.

When our tour bus door opened in Memphis, TN, we were greeted by a white woman with a huge tray of bar-b-que spare ribs. She also brought baked beans and cornbread which she had prepared especially for us, an interracial team of performers and speakers. Is this the behavior of members of an angry racist mob? By the way, her spare ribs were outstanding. A close second to my mom’s.

The greatest proof the tea parties are not racist gatherings is the overwhelmingly positive and enthusiastic response to my signature opening comment. “Hello my fellow patriots. I am NOT an African American! I am Lloyd Marcus, AMERICAN!” The crowds go wild with cheers and even some tears. These patriots flock to me expressing great gratitude for my stand not to be hyphenated. Countless times I have heard, “Hyphenating divides us. We wish to be Americans”.

So there you have it Mr. Ratigan. Do these people sound like an angry racist hate filled mob supportive of the killing of blacks and Jews? I submit that you know they are not.

You sir are an evil man willing to demean the character of millions of true patriots to prop up your American idol, Barack Hussein Obama. Accusations of the tea parties being racist are absurd. And yet, the liberal media is relentless in their attempts to sell their shameful lie. Liberals such as Ratigan could care less about the devastating effect fueling the flames of racial hatred is having on American race relations.

Folks, I take the liberal media’s accusation of racism against my fellow patriots who are white extremely personal. We patriots share a kinship through our love for our country. We are family. And you don’t allow people to dis your family.

March 27th in Searchlight, NV we launch Tea Party Express Tour III. For me, the rallies are family reunions. I can’t wait to see you.

NAACP Image Award Reaches New Low

Monday, March 1st, 2010

I was there in Washington, D.C. with my dad when Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his famous “I Have a Dream” speech. I was a little boy. Highlights I remember are yellow school buses parked as far as I could see, MLK’s speech, and black actress Lena Horne’s electrifying one-word speech. Horn approached the podium and simply screamed the word “FREEDOM!” holding it for a long time. The crowd of 250,000 plus went wild with laughter and applause.

I also remember how certain ideas in MLK’s speech struck powerful chords in my young heart and mind. “People should be judged by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin … little black boys and girls and little white boys and girls holding hands in brotherhood.”

Recently, my dad, now 80, reminded me of something I said that day which touched him. Dad said that I asked him why we were there. He responded, “To get our freedom.” He purchased a “Freedom” button for me. I said, “Dad, I’m not gonna take this button off until we get our freedom.”

I do not remember that day at the 1963 March on Washington feeling in any way hatred for whites or America. How did MLK’s Civil Rights Movement and the NAACP take such a drastic turn in the wrong direction?

As a black conservative, I am often called a traitor to my race. I submit that the true traitors are the race profiteers: liberals and socialists who have hijacked Dr. King’s movement, shattered his dream, and betrayed his legacy.

Quite frankly, the NAACP is a disgrace. When President Obama spoke at an NAACP event, the audience erupted in wild applause when Obama said that blacks are still suffering from racism in America. Thank you, Mr. Great Unifier. Why was the NAACP audience so excited about maintaining victim status? Why did they want to believe the lie that race-relations in America have not changed much since the 1950s?

Yes, as long as there are humans, there will be some prejudice and discrimination. But racism is not a problem for blacks in America today. America is the greatest land of opportunity on the planet for all who choose to go for it. Why are so many people willing to risk everything to get to our shores, attempting the journey on cardboard rafts held together with crazy glue and duct tape?

Dr. King’s once-great NAACP has become a negative, shameful tool of the left: overseers committed to keeping their fellow blacks dependent and subservient to the Democrat party.

Including once-self-proclaimed Communist Van Jones among the honorees at this year’s NAACP Image Award show last night epitomizes the organization’s descent into liberal Hades. Jones was forced to resign as the Obama administration’s green czar due to his radical, far-left ideas, which include believing the Bush administration blew up the towers on 9/11. Jones has spouted extremely vicious and vulgar comments about political opponents. NAACP President Benjamin Todd Jealous called Jones “an American treasure.” Is Jones the “image” that the NAACP wishes to present to young black America while treating black U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and black former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice like dirt? Utterly outrageous and shameful.

Remember this classic commercial? As a car drives down the highway, trash is thrown from the window, littering the landscape. The camera cuts to the face of an American Indian. A tear rolls down his cheek. Imagine the face being that of MLK. A tear rolls down his cheek upon seeing what has happened to his inspired movement and his dream of brotherhood.

As for Dr. King’s dream of a day when people would be judged by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin, the NAACP functions in quite the opposite way. The organization views everything from a racial prospective, and race trumps everything except conservatism. A black choosing to embrace conservatism is the only sin the NAACP considers unforgivable. Thus, their disdain for self-reliant, independent-minded, patriotic blacks.

If the NAACP deems Van Jones worthy of their Image Award this year, then surely the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, famous for his “God d— America” comment, is a strong candidate for the prestigious award next year.

Selecting Van Jones to receive their award was truly a new low for the NAACP. To quote Rush Limbaugh, the organization should be titled the NAALCP, National Association for the Advancement of Liberal Colored People.

I am president of a new organization: the NAACPC, the National Association for the Advancement of Conservative People of all Colors. If he were alive today, the man I remember as being bigger than life, whose words touched and inspired me as a child at the 1963 March on Washington, would surely become a proud member. With a smile of brotherhood and open arms, I cordially invite all of you to join our cause. NAACPC.com.

As my patriot brother Lee Greenwood so eloquently proclaimed in his classic song, “I am proud [and extremely grateful] to be an American!”
