Never Underestimate The Divine Factor

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

david golith 2It is always too soon to give up, cut your risk, throw in the towel. You never know what tomorrow will bring. The morning I arose to discover Obama won the presidency, I was depressed. I knew this liberal was wrong for America. Only my faith and trust in God revived my positive mindset. God did not wake up and say, “Oh no, Obama won!” Though I did not understand nor could I see His divine purpose, I said, “All is well”.

Little did I know that Obama’s aggressive implementation of his far left radical agenda would so terrify and infuriate the American people, it would awaken a majority who have been silent for far too long. One could say Obama’s election was a blessing in disguise. Think about this folks. The passionate rebuke of Obama’s agenda by one man, Rick Santelli, inspired millions to rise up to take back our country. Incredible!

Then there is ACORN, the Evil Empire, given authority to conduct the U.S. Census. With numerous voter fraud lawsuits against them around the country, this is equivalent to letting the fox into the hen house. This corrupt organization which played a prominent role in getting Obama elected was scheduled to receive billions in his stimulus package. Frustratingly, we, the people, were powerless to stop them.

Miraculously, like David and Goliath, who could have ever imagined that two kids dressed as a pimp and hooker could bring ACORN down?

This is why it is crucial to never give up, trust God and keep the faith. So, hang in there folks. As the song says, “The sun will come out tomorrow”.

God bless, Lloyd

Stop Allowing The Left To Set The Rules

Monday, September 28th, 2009

I am so sick of the Left being allowed to make the rules. Imagine the absurdity of a competition in which one side is allowed to set the rules against their opponent. The Left tells us what is racist. The Left tells us what we can and cannot say. The Left published a cartoon depicting former black Secretary of State Condolezza Rice as an Aunt Jemima; another depicted Rice as a huge-lipped parrot for her Massa Bush. Neither were considered racist by their creators or publishers, or even widely condemned on the Left.

In opposition to black Republican Michael Steele’s campaign to run for U.S. Senate, a liberal blogger published a doctored photo of Steele in black face and big red lips made to look like a minstrel. The caption read, “Simple Sambo wants to move to the big house”. Not one Democrat denounced these racist portrayals of black conservatives.

And yet, a sign seen at a tea party depicting Obama as a witch doctor is considered by the Left to be beyond the pale and obviously racist. Why is the Left, given their track record of bias, granted final authority to determine the intent of the sign? Why do we conservatives so quickly and easily allow ourselves to be put on the defensive?

The rules set by the Left are extremely clear. Racist images of black conservatives and negative images of Bush are fair game. Even a play about murdering President Bush was called “harmless art”. Meanwhile, all unflattering images of Obama are racist, and constitute dangerous, potentially violent hate speech.

New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd called Congressman Joe Wilson a racist for saying, “You lie” to president Obama. Using her psychic powers, Dowd said Wilson was really saying in his mind, “You lie, BOY!” And yet, liberal commentator Julianne Malveaux, saying she hopes black conservative Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas’ wife “feeds him a lot of fatty foods so he will die early from heart disease like many black men”, was not considered racist. I am a black conservative singer, songwriter, entertainer and columnist. Liberals have posted comments all over YouTube and C-SPAN freely using and calling me the “N” word. Because they are libs and I am an uppity, off the liberal plantation, run-away black, all tactics to restore me to my owners are acceptable.

Here is another example of the Left setting the rules. “Take Back America!” is now on their list of racist terms we protesters are not allowed to use. Again using their psychic powers, the Left claims the protesters are really saying, “Because the president is black, lets take America back”! This is totally absurd. “Take Back America” refers to the hijacking of our freedoms, liberty and culture by an out of control administration.

I was asked to perform at a tea party event. The organizer informed me, “I want to get away from calling the rally a “Tea Party” because the liberal media have made the term negative”. I said, “Does this mean you do not want me to sing my “American Tea Party Anthem”? Then, why am I here?” Politeness to my host prevented me from saying, “News flash, pal! The media is going to trash us regardless of what we call our rallies. It’s what they do. They are not on our side. Should we keep changing what we call the rallies in hope of finding a name which will cause the media to give us fair coverage”? A million people showed up in Washington DC for the September 12th Taxpayers Rally. The media reported 70,000.

I was interviewed on CNN. During the pre-interview by the young black producer over the phone, he asked me, “Is there any part of Obama’s health care plan you like”? I replied, “No”. He was stunned. With great shock and disbelief in his voice, the producer repeated my reply with a loud “NO?”. Then he abruptly said, “I’ll call you back”.

News1News posted my CNN interview on YouTube with the following caption, “African American Right Wing (Obama Hating) Singing Tea Bagger, Lloyd Marcus”. Folks, I am a Christian and hate no one. But, this is what the media does to those who disagree. All who oppose Obama’s agenda are either racist, redneck or stupid.

Folks, the stakes are far too high to allow the Left to continue setting the rules of engagement. The far Left and Obama administration have a vision for America different than our Constitution. As patriots, it is our duty to just say, NO!

My black 82 year old dad told me he has seen the reports on TV how a lot of people at the rallies want Obama dead. I said, “I bet you saw that on CNN”. Dad said, “Yes”. It infuriates me that CNN is selling the lie that the Tea Party Movement is all about racism and hatred for a black president. While my dad never said anything out loud, I thought, “What must he think of me? Why is his first born siding with these evil white folks against a fine fellow black man?” I replied, “Dad, try watching Fox”.

Why is the Left so angry at Blacks who love America?

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

Silence Blacks, artwork by Lloyd Marcus

I appeared on CNN Newsroom hosted by Don Lemon. He was fair and allowed me to make my points. I stated three things in the interview. One, I refer to myself as an American rather than a hyphenated African-American. Two, the tea party protests are against President Obama’s policies, not his race. The protesters are decent hardworking concerned citizens. Three, the American people are not racist.

These statements inspired immediate outrage from the so-called tolerant and compassionate Left. An email from a self proclaimed Marxist threatened physical harm to me. He also vowed to destroy me and my music career. A creative leftist called me a “Toxic Negro”. Another called me a “sell out”. The “you’re a minstrel” and “do you tap dance too” comments in one email were interesting. Less creative e-mailers expressed their outrage towards me by using the typical “F” and “N” bombs every other word, including my favorite, “Who the “F” do you think you are?” Now, if I can create a hit song using my hate mail that would be sweet capitalistic revenge.

I received angry emails from blacks who said I should be ashamed of myself. Apparently, they believe my not resenting whites and America is a betrayal of my blackness. I no longer feel the need to be patient with racist blacks. Just as we do not tolerate the KKK and white supremacists, we should not give a pass to racist blacks. Racism is evil…period.

I am continually amazed by the Left’s anger at me for saying America and it’s people are good and that I love my country. Why should these statements inspire such rage? It appears the Left hates all who love America. They particularly despise patriotic minorities.

Folks, thanks for your prayers and numerous emails expressing your thanks and support. My strength and peace comes from knowing I am on the right side and in God’s Will. Also, my delete key is my friend.

Black Tea Party Express Tour Team Member Experiences Racism

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

I traveled on the Tea Party Express tour bus as a singer/songwriter, entertainer and spokesperson; 16 states, 34 rallies in two weeks. I experienced vicious racial verbal attacks, not from the tea party protesters. The racial hate expressed against me all came from the left, people who support president Obama’s radial socialist agenda.

Unfortunately, my deleted email box is littered with numerous messages expressing the following, “You are the dumbest self hating f****** n***** I have ever seen!” These racists are outraged by my opening lines I boldly proclaimed at each rally. “Hello my fellow patriots! I am NOT an African-American! I am Lloyd Marcus, AMERCIAN!” At every rally, my proclamation inspired great applause and cheers of joy and approval from the audiences. After each rally many came to me with tears in their eyes. They said, “I thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you said. I am Irish (or Italian, or Asian) American. And yet, I would never hyphenate. I feel hyphening divides us. While it is fine to honor one’s origin, let’s all be American first”.

The tea party audience’s passionate response to my proclamation was a surprise to me. I did not know so many Americans disapproved of hyphenating pushed on us via political correctness.
I rejected hyphenating years ago. One day I woke up and heard I was no longer black, I was African American. Anyone rejecting the new term was called ignorant, insensitive and an Uncle Tom if you are black. Not intending to be provocative or controversial, I casually stated that I am not a hyphenated American, but simply an American at a tea party. The audience’s cheers of approval was surprising and heartwarming.

Sign at a Tea Party Express RallyAs I said, I am a singer, songwriter, entertainer and columnist using my gifts to spread the message that conservatism is best for all Americans. Liberal’s response to my YouTube videos, columns and performances on the Tea Party Express have been extremely racist, vicious and hate filled. In their incredible arrogance, they vilify me for loving my country and not viewing myself as a victim of white America. In the sick minds of liberals, as a black man in America, I must support president Obama regardless of his policies. I must resent white America. I must feel entitled to the earnings of other Americans. My belief that my success or failure is totally in the hands of myself and my God is an anathema to them.

As to the claim that the tea party protesters are racist, they are not. Quite the opposite. At every rally with thousands in attendance, I was overwhelmingly showered with affection and thanks for standing up for America. At one rally, a sign read, “Lloyd Marcus for President”. These protesters are not racist. They are decent hard working oridinary Americans who love their country and disapprove of the radial changes planned by the Obama administration. Race is not an issue with them. They have deep concerns for their country.

Disgustingly, Obama-ites use race to silence the protesters. They know it is an effective weapon to use against decent people. Ironically, the people the Obam-ites call racist are the same people who hate hyphenating. They want to be united as Americans.

The grand finale of the Tea Party Express Tour took place Saturday, September 12 in Washington DC at the U.S. Capitol. I performed my song, Twenty Ten. The crowd of over a million loved it. C-Span posted my performance on YouTube. Shamefully, C-Span had to delete the hate-filled racist comments posted by Obama supporters in response to my performance. Why do so-called tolerant and compassionate liberals think it is OK to freely use the “N” word when referring to blacks who escape the “liberal plantation”?

Despite Obama-ite’s hideous charges of racism, this amazing tea party movement is driven by passion, concern and love of country by the American people. A Tea Party Express “whistle stop” in Mt. Vernon, Texas epitomized the mood of the movement.

We were late leaving our Dallas, Texas rally. We would arrive late at our rally in Memphis, Tennessee. The decision was made to cancel the road side “whistle stop” in Mt. Vernon, Texas. Besides, it was only suppose to be a brief stop for a few folks to tour the bus, take pictures and give us homemade treats. Then, we received the call, “You MUST stop. There are a lot of people here!” The State Police lead our Tea Party Express Tour bus into a crowd of 500 to 800 cheering excited people. They treated us like rock stars. Totally unprepared, the truck with our sound system was on it’s way to Memphis. We did not have a sound system or a stage.

We made our way through the crowd to the bed of a pick up truck. National radio talk show host Mark Williams, blue star mom Deborah Johns, singer Diana Nagy, the Rivoli Revue (Ron and Kay) and myself climbed on board. Someone handed Mark a bull horn which he used to encourage the extremely enthusiastic crowd. We said the Pledge of Allegiance and Diana lead in the singing of “God Bless America”. Many in the crowd were sobbing. Then they showered us with thanks, hugs, bottled water, bags of shacks and homemade treats. I thought, “How many angry racist mobs bake and bring brownies and overwhelm a black guy with affection and hugs?”

Once back on the bus, our team struggled to hold back tears. We felt humbled, honored and blessed. Though extremely well received at each rally, this “whistle stop” drove home the passion, love of country, and importance of our mission to preserve and Take Back America!

The Tea Party protesters are hard working decent people who love their country and want us all united as Americans. I am highly offended that this evil administration seeks to divide us, not just by race, but also by class envy. As I said to many of the audiences along the Tea Party Express bus tour, “I love you. Stay strong. Do not allow their calling you a racist to shut you up! Stand up for America. God bless you. And God bless America!”

Do Angry Mobs Bake and Bring Brownies?

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

Since Aug. 28th in Sacramento, CA, I have been traveling across America performing on the Tea Party Express tour. Patriots are attending by the thousands, families, grandparents and kids. Everyone extremely enthusiastic, grateful and concerned for their country.

The liberal media is calling them extremists, racists, ignorant and an angry mob. I am the only black performer on the team and the affection from the attendees has been overwhelming. Black conservative authors Selena and William Owens are traveling with us as speakers. Kenneth Gladney, the black conservative beaten by SEIU thugs is touring with us also telling his story. The American people have embraced us with huge loving open arms of brotherhood. If you love America, as the song says, “We Are Family”.

One stop was particularly moving. After a rally with thousands, we were headed to our next rally. A whistle stop was schedule because a few folks really wanted to say hello. We were running late and decided to cancel the whistle stop. Then we got the call. “You must stop. There are a lot of people here.” The state police guided our bus into a crowd of 500 to 800 people along side the highway.

They cheered and treated us like rock stars. They showered us with hugs, food, homemade cookies, brownies and gifts. Nothing expense, but overflowing with their love. We used the bed of a pick up truck as a stage and spoke through a bull horn. We said the Pledge of Allegiance and sang “God Bless America”. Many in the crowd were sobbing.

When our team got back on the bus, our emotions were high. We have gotten rave reviews and affection at every rally. But this whistle stop did not have a sound system or great speeches. These people were extremely grateful that we were traveling across America to Washington DC as their voice. We felt humbled and blessed to be their representatives and a part of American history.

These folks are not racists, nor are they an angry mob. They are hard working decent American people who love their country and do not want it changed into something unrecognizable. Angry mobs do not bake and bring brownies.

Time to End the Hyphenated American Thing

AMERICAN THINKER

The announcer introduces me to the audiences of thousands, “Singer/songwriter of the national America Tea Party Anthem, Mr. Lloyd Marcus!”

I enthusiastically enter the stage, “Hello my fellow patriots! I am not an African American … I am Lloyd Marcus … AMERICAN!” The mostly white crowds go wild with applause and cheers of approval. I feel their relief and gratitude of a black man who loves his country and is not hostile or resentful toward them.

I am traveling across America on the Tea Party Express Tour. We began August 28th in Sacramento, CA. Our 34 city tour will end September 12th in Washington DC.
Tea Party Express Red Bus
The audience’s emotional response to my, I am not a hyphenated American proclamation has been a big surprise to me. After each rally many approach me, many with tears in their eyes to thank me. They tell me, “I can not begin to tell you how much I appreciate what you said. I’m Irish (or I am Italian), and I would never hyphenate. America doesn’t need things to divide us. It is fine to honor your heritage but, be an American first”.

My long ago decision to go un-hyphenated is not a criticism of blacks who choose to call themselves “African American” and feel a connection to Africa. Their choice is none of my business. I live in Florida. My “mother land” is Baltimore, Maryland, home of the Baltimore Orioles, Hall of Famer Cal Ripken and the best crab cakes on the planet.

This cross-country tour has opened my eyes to the reality that Americans have been held hostage by political correctness. Americans want to be united. They hate hyphenating. In New Mexico, a young man thanked me, “I tell all my friends I am American … not Mexican-American!”

As I said, simply proclaiming myself an American is striking an extremely emotional chord with my fellow Americans across America. Their affection and gratitude is sometimes overwhelming. Moving me to tears. An elderly woman who owns a small dry cleaning business in Nevada offered me free dry cleaning for life! A rancher invited me to his ranch to shoot guns and drink whiskey. While I do neither, his offer was genuine and sincere.

These same Americans who so desperately want to be united without hyphenations are called racists by the Obama administration for disagreeing with his radical agenda.
Freedom to identify one’s self in whatever way one pleases is a part of the greatness of America. While I acknowledge my African descent, I will always proudly refer to myself as an American!
